OVERVIEW

The WARDOGS battlefield is destructible, and both the Steam store page and Team17’s official page state it plainly. Destruction sits alongside base building as one half of the same system: what players put up, other players can take down. Set in the derelict industrial mountains of Eastern Europe, the map gives that system a lot to work with — factories, silos, concrete blocks and the fortifications teams raise around the Control Zone.

HISTORY

Large-scale destruction has been a selling point in the genre for years, usually as spectacle. What the official material describes here is closer to a rule than a feature: Team17 presents destruction and construction together, in a sandbox where teams build forward bases and other teams remove them. As of 16 August 2026 neither Team17 nor BULKHEAD has published how far destruction goes — whether terrain deforms, whether buildings collapse fully, or whether anything rebuilds during a match.

WHAT IT CHANGES IN PRACTICE

The consequence worth planning around is that cover is temporary. A wall that protects an approach in the first minutes of a round may not exist later, and a fortified position is a target rather than a guarantee. Team17 also lists armoured vehicles and helicopters among the things players buy, which is presumably how heavy structures come down. The specifics — what damages what, and how much — are not published by any source we have found as of 16 August 2026.

WHAT PLAYERS GET WRONG

The mistake is treating a strong position as a permanent one and settling in. On a battlefield the developer describes as destructible, the better question is not where the best cover is but how long it will last. We cannot yet tell you how much punishment a given structure takes, because nobody has published it. Our page on FOBs and base building covers what is known about putting defences up in the first place.

WHAT CHANGES ON 10 SEP

Early Access makes the game itself citable. We will re-check this entry against the game, confirm or correct what it says, and update the checked date. If anything here turns out to be wrong, this page will say so — and say when we learned it.
