Early Access date set for 10 September
OVERVIEW
WARDOGS enters Steam Early Access on 10 September 2026. The date is published on the game’s own Steam store page, which also states that the Early Access period is expected to run one to two years, and that the price will rise as updates land. Insider Gaming and DualShockers both reported the announcement on 11 August 2026, attributing it to BULKHEAD and Team17.
HISTORY
The date arrived late and in one piece. Our own monitoring recorded the Steam page showing only “2026” on 10 August 2026, and the full date of 10 September on 15 August. PC Gamer had covered the game’s reveal on 6 June 2026 from the Future Games Show without a date attached. As of 17 August 2026 no source we have opened describes an earlier date that was missed or moved, so we make no claim of a delay.
WHAT IT CHANGES IN PRACTICE
What matters more than the date itself is what it is a date for. Steam’s own Early Access notice frames 10 September as the start of a one to two year period, not as a finished release — the store page states that some content, fighter jets among it, is planned for 1.0 rather than for Early Access. Anyone treating 10 September as a launch in the ordinary sense will be surprised by what is and is not in the game.
WHAT PLAYERS GET WRONG
The question people actually ask is whether they should buy on the tenth. The honest answer we can give from published sources: the price is stated to be lower during Early Access than after, the content is explicitly incomplete, and the developer has committed to no in-game monetisation during the period beyond a supporter edition.
