Kolchia

OVERVIEW

The world of WARDOGS has a name, and it is Kolchia. The studio published it in the question-and-answer post on the game’s store feed on 18 February 2026: WARDOGS is set in war-torn Kolchia and centres on the fight for PV-1, a rare resource the post describes as fuelling decades of Eurasian conflict. The same post states that Kolchia features multiple locations and points of interest, offering varied and grounded militaristic gameplay. We read it at the source on 4 September 2026. This is the first entry in this section, and it exists because the section was built for named places and a named place finally turned up.

HISTORY

Until today this section carried a sentence saying that no official material named a single map, region or point of interest — the one part of the site where nothing at all had been published by name. That was wrong, and it had been wrong since February: the name was in an announcement on a channel we only put under watch on 3 September 2026. What the wider official material adds is the character of the place rather than its geography. The store description sets the game in the derelict industrial mountains of Eastern Europe on a destructible battlefield, and the studio said on 16 July 2026 that it gathered real-world references first-hand in Georgia. Kolchia is fictional; the references behind it are not.

WHAT IT CHANGES IN PRACTICE

What is established about the ground you will actually play on comes from three published figures and they fit together. The map is 256 square kilometres. The Control Zone is an area of two kilometres by two, drawn somewhere inside it and in a different place each match. Inside that, a shifting Hot Zone doubles both cash and the value of a body towards the head count. So Kolchia is not a place you learn the way you learn a small map — it is a very large area of which a randomised fraction matters at any moment, and the studio’s stated intent is that no two matches share the same ground. Beyond that, nothing is published: no location has been named, no point of interest, and no map of Kolchia has been released.

WHAT PLAYERS GET WRONG

The mistake is expecting a map to memorise. On the published rules, the thing that decides a match moves every time, so route knowledge matters more than landmark knowledge, and the fastest player is whoever reads a fresh approach quickly rather than whoever has learnt a lane. The second mistake is treating PV-1 as a mechanic. Nothing published says it is: it is described as what the war is about, which is a story rather than a rule, and no official source connects it to anything a player does. We will name every location on this page the day the game can be installed and looked at, which is 10 September 2026 — not before, and not from anyone else’s screenshots.

WHAT CHANGES ON 10 SEP

Early Access makes the game itself citable. We will re-check this entry against the game, confirm or correct what it says, and update the checked date. If anything here turns out to be wrong, this page will say so — and say when we learned it.
