OVERVIEW

Being shot in WARDOGS does not appear to end your life immediately. According to PC Gamer, writing on 11 August 2026 after playing a test build, a downed player waits for help and can choose between giving up — losing the money spent on that loadout — or holding on for a rescue. Team17’s official page lists reviving allies among the actions that pay, which confirms revives exist and are rewarded, though the official material does not describe the downed state itself.

HISTORY

Downed states exist to make squads matter, and most large-scale shooters have one. What PC Gamer described on 11 August 2026 adds an economic edge: because your gear was bought with persistent money, bleeding out is not just a respawn timer, it is a loss you carry into the next life. That framing comes from the outlet, not from BULKHEAD. Updated on 4 September 2026 to name what is known: no official source has published bleed-out timings or whether a revived player keeps their equipment, and none has named a revive tool either — but PC Gamer did. Its reporter listed defibrillators among the tools anyone can buy, on 11 August 2026, after playing a test build, and we now carry an entry on them. That is reported rather than confirmed, and the distinction is the point: an item a journalist saw in an early-August build is not the same as an item the publisher has described.

WHAT IT CHANGES IN PRACTICE

Two things follow from the reporting, and both are worth knowing before launch. First, the decision to wait or give up is a money decision, not just a time one. Second, PC Gamer described defibrillators as a purchasable tool rather than a class item, which means whether anyone near you can revive at all depends on what they bought. We are not publishing timings or revive ranges: nobody has published them, and inventing plausible ones is how misinformation starts.

WHAT PLAYERS GET WRONG

The reflex from other shooters is to give up quickly and get back into the fight. If the reported economy holds, that reflex costs you the loadout you paid for, every time. PC Gamer’s 11 August 2026 account describes waiting and offering a bribe as the alternative, and it worked. Treat all of this as reported until the game ships and the values can be read from it. Our page on tipping and bribes covers the mechanic that makes waiting worthwhile.

WHAT CHANGES ON 10 SEP

Early Access makes the game itself citable. We will re-check this entry against the game, confirm or correct what it says, and update the checked date. If anything here turns out to be wrong, this page will say so — and say when we learned it.
