Rocket Launchers
OVERVIEW
Rocket launchers are the only weapon type WARDOGS names in its own official description, and the sentence naming them is about buildings rather than about people: destroy apartment blocks with rocket launchers. It appears on the Steam store page and on the Team17 game page, read at the source on 4 September 2026, in the passage that introduces the destruction layer. That framing is the whole point of this page. In most shooters a launcher is an anti-vehicle tool that happens to damage scenery. In the one sentence WARDOGS has published, it is a tool for editing the map, and the thing it is aimed at is a block of flats.
HISTORY
Destruction has been part of this game’s pitch since the reveal — both official pages describe a destructible battlefield, and the same paragraph that names launchers also describes the world reacting to a player’s presence. What makes the pairing worth writing about is the scoring rule underneath it. Points go to the team with the most players inside the control zone, so cover is not decoration: a building that overlooks the zone is a position, and a weapon that removes buildings removes positions. PC Gamer, reporting on 11 August 2026 after playing a test build, described building, fortifying and holding ground as core activities rather than side ones, which is the other half of the same idea. Nothing published names a single launcher model.
WHAT IT CHANGES IN PRACTICE
What can be said today is about the role, not the hardware. A launcher is bought, like everything else, from a loadout screen at each life, with money that carries between matches — the official description states the buying loop plainly. Its published use is structural: taking away the thing an enemy is standing behind or shooting from. Against a team that has fortified a chokepoint, which the same description offers as a legitimate way to play, that is the published counter. Everything a buyer would actually want to know is missing as of 4 September 2026: no model names, no cost, no ammunition count, no blast radius, no statement about whether launchers damage vehicles as well as structures. We are not going to supply any of it from other games, and no site that does has read it anywhere either.
WHAT PLAYERS GET WRONG
The mistake is buying a launcher as a kill weapon. On the published material it is a demolition tool, and the game pays for presence in a zone rather than for eliminations, so the value of removing a wall is that somebody can no longer hold behind it. The second mistake is more expensive: treating the purchase as free. In an economy where cash persists, a launcher bought for a building that turns out not to matter is money missing next match, and the official description says as much about spending big in general. The third is assuming there is one launcher. The description uses the plural and names none, so how many exist, what they differ in, and what they cost are open questions that 10 September 2026 will answer by simply letting anyone look. Our entry on destruction covers what is established about what actually comes down.
Early Access makes the game itself citable. We will re-check this entry against the game, confirm or correct what it says, and update the checked date. If anything here turns out to be wrong, this page will say so — and say when we learned it.
