WARDOGS INTEL
FORTIFICATION CONFIRMED LAST CHECKED 4 SEPTEMBER 2026

Loudspeaker

OVERVIEW

Players can build loudspeakers in WARDOGS, and use them to broadcast faction propaganda at the enemy. The studio published this itself, in a question-and-answer post on the game’s own store feed dated 18 February 2026, in the section explaining proximity voice chat — the same passage that describes the sandbox as entirely player-driven. We read it at the source on 4 September 2026. It is the only structure other than a forward operating base that any official source has named, which is why it opens this section, and it is the strangest thing published about this game.

HISTORY

The reason it belongs to the building layer rather than to the voice interface is that it is constructed and it stays where it is put. WARDOGS already has positional voice: the official material states that players hear whoever is near them, friend or enemy, which makes talking a tactical decision with a range. A loudspeaker takes that range and extends it deliberately, in one direction, at people who did not choose to listen. Placed next to the studio’s other published commitments — real-world ballistics, a hardcore shooter that does not forget it is a game — it is the clearest single piece of evidence for where that line has been drawn.

WHAT IT CHANGES IN PRACTICE

What can be said today is what the sentence supports and nothing beyond it. It is built, so it costs something and takes time. It broadcasts, so it is heard at a distance rather than at conversational range. And it is aimed at enemies, so its published purpose is psychological rather than coordinative. Whether that has any mechanical effect — whether it masks footsteps, draws attention, or does nothing but annoy — is unpublished, and we would rather say so than invent a use. What is genuinely worth planning around is the second-order effect that follows from the published audio design: anything loud in a game with positional audio is also a thing that can be located.

WHAT PLAYERS GET WRONG

The mistake is assuming a loudspeaker is a joke item with no cost. It is built, in a game where everything is bought with money that carries between matches, so it competes with equipment for the same funds. The second mistake is assuming it is a weapon: nothing published attributes any damage, suppression or debuff to it. The third, and the one we would warn about hardest, is building one where you intend to stay. On the published audio model, a fixed source of noise is a landmark, and the team it annoys is the team that now knows where you put it. As of 4 September 2026 no cost, no range, no build time and no durability has been published for any structure in this game.

WHAT CHANGES ON 10 SEP

Early Access makes the game itself citable. We will re-check this entry against the game, confirm or correct what it says, and update the checked date. If anything here turns out to be wrong, this page will say so — and say when we learned it.
