WARDOGS INTEL
NEWS REPORTED LAST CHECKED 17 AUGUST 2026

Pre-orders open, and what the editions include

OVERVIEW

Pre-orders for WARDOGS opened on 11 August 2026, and the Steam store page publishes the current price along with the statement that it will increase as the game is updated. DualShockers and Insider Gaming, reporting the same day, both described a standard edition and an optional supporters edition, attributing the detail to BULKHEAD. The exact contents of that supporter edition are not published on the store page itself.

HISTORY

Taking pre-orders for an Early Access game is unusual, and the studio said so. Insider Gaming quoted BULKHEAD’s chief executive on 11 August 2026 acknowledging exactly that, and framing the closed beta as the answer: every pre-order includes access, so nobody has to trust a trailer. As of 17 August 2026 Steam declares two pieces of downloadable content attached to the game, whose contents are not described.

WHAT IT CHANGES IN PRACTICE

The commitment that carries the most weight is the one about monetisation. Multiple outlets reported on 11 August 2026, attributing it to BULKHEAD, that there will be no in-game monetisation during Early Access beyond the supporters edition, and that skins are earned rather than bought. We mark this as reported: we have not found it stated in first-party material, and it is the kind of promise worth checking again at launch.

WHAT PLAYERS GET WRONG

The question underneath a pre-order page is always the same one: what happens if it disappoints. When this page was written on 17 August 2026, the store page answered it directly by inviting a refund after the beta. ⚠️ Corrected on 3 September 2026: that sentence is no longer on the store page. We know it because we keep a copy of every version of the pages we cite, and this page said it in the present tense until today. We are not reading intent into a deleted line, and Steam’s own refund policy is unaffected by what a store page says — but the invitation is gone. One other thing has moved since August: the supporter edition, which we recorded here as reported rather than confirmed, is now on the store page with a price of its own, and our price page carries the figures. We are not quoting prices in this text, deliberately — the store page states they will change, and a number typed into a sentence today becomes wrong without anyone noticing. Our page on the Early Access date covers what the period itself is meant to be.

WHAT CHANGES ON 10 SEP

Early Access makes the game itself citable. We will re-check this entry against the game, confirm or correct what it says, and update the checked date. If anything here turns out to be wrong, this page will say so — and say when we learned it.
